Hungerford Farm - JJ Locations

Hungerford Farm , Somerset

Stunning farm location set in unspoilt countryside with unparalleled panoramic views over the sea, and the beautiful Brendon and Quantock Hills. As well as rolling pastures, meadows, cornfields and scenic old farm tracks, the location also offers woods containing a range of beautiful mature trees, a millstream, and ducks, hens, cockerels, horses (ex-race horses, cart horses and ponies) and sheep. In addition, the farm has a variety of picturesque old buildings, including stables, cow sheds and hay barns, as well as several large, more modern barns which offer perfect storage for film equipment and props. Hungerford Farm has previously been chosen as a film location by the BBC, who also used the farm's barns as a place to build their indoor film sets and store their props. The farm adjoins Cleeve Abbey, an ancient Cistercian abbey said to contain the finest cloister buildings in England, and is just four miles from the beautiful ancient village of Dunster with its medieval yarn market and cobbled streets, and two miles from the sea. Despite its idyllic location, Hungerford Farm is in an easily accessible location from the M5 motorway. The area offers a wide range of accommodation, including many reasonably priced options. The owners of Hungerford Farm, the Richmond family, have lived in the area for many years and have a list of reasonably priced places to stay locally, as well as an extensive network of useful local contacts for film companies. Located in Somerset.
